Nine Ibexers set off from the large layby near junction 6 of the M40 on a dry autumnal day. The general direction was south towards Fingest. After a couple of miles, one member was suffering from knee problems and decided to turn back. Whilst passing through Wormsley Estate, we were greeted with a procession of old and new porsche cars. The walk progressed through some lovely woodlands followed by great views over the village of Turville.
Not far further on was the village of Fingest, our lunchtime destination with tea/coffee and lots of cakes! Jan had arranged a fund-raising event for the local church with a vast array of cakes on offer. Several of us had brought containers to take extra cakes home with us.
The return part of the walk was altered slightly and started on a 'C' road (to guarantee we arrived back at the layby before dark) where a close-up view of the Turville windmill was had. Steps were retraced through Wormsley Estate afterwhich it was downhill to the layby and our cars. Thanks go to Yvonne for leading the walk.
