A beautiful August day for the Gomshall Circuit Walk organised by Patricia. Eight of us set off at a comfortable pace through the Surrey Hills with quite a bit of the route encompassing the Greensands Way. After beating our way through a field of giant maize we had our customary elevenses in the shadow of a Norman church before ascending the hilly section of the route with lunch at the highest point under the protective shade of some ancient oaks.
The afternoon was mostly downhill which was ideal given the warm weather. To cool down after our exertions we had a pleasant drink by the stream in the garden of the Gomshall Mill before heading to the station - the site of St. Augustine's Coptic Orthodox Church caught out attention on the way, the final curiosity on a very pleasant day in Surrey.
