David and Susan are walking the Berwickshire Coastal Path over 3 days after the August Bank Holiday weekend. The route is 48km from Cockburnspath in the north down to Berwick-on-Tweed. The path takes in some dramatic clifftop scenery complete with stacks, arches and crumbling castles. It rounds St Abb’s Head, a National Nature Reserve renowned for its birdlife, to reach the attractive fishing village of St Abbs. Several sandy beaches are reached en route to the town of Eyemouth, before the final stage leads on along the cliffs to cross the Border to Berwick.

The plan:

Monday 25th Aug: Travel to Berwick area.

Tuesday 26th Aug: Berwickshire Coastal Path - stage 1

Wednesday 27th Aug: Berwickshire Coastal Path - stage 2

Thursday 28th Aug: Berwickshire Coastal Path - stage 3

Friday 29th Aug: Day in Berwick or travel home

David and Susan are staying at the Pot-a-Doodle Do camping pods site at Scremerston, approximately 2.5 miles south of Berwick-on-Tweed. We shall self-cater for breakfasts and eat out in the evenings.

Please book your own accommodation (whether a camping pod or somewhere else nearby). If you need a lift, either from the Bank Holiday weekend or from Berwick-on-Tweed if taking a train and travelling up just for the coastal path, please let David and Susan know and they will coordinate everything (but don't book your accommodation until you know you have a lift).
